![]() ![]() That's because Tails - despite his prominent placement right behind Sonic in every pre-level illustration - has been kidnapped by Eggman, and it's up to you to save him. The first change players familiar with the console version of Sonic 2 will notice is that there's no spunky sidekick to run alongside you this time. While it doesn't quite live up to either its big-screen sibling or its excellent portable predecessor, it's still a worthwhile link in the Sonic series, and a fun - if sometimes frustrating - game. Rather than leaving its Master System and Game Gear-owning fans with a simple, downsized port of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, SEGA crafted a wholly unique title for the 8-bit systems, with a new plot, original level set, and quite a few gameplay differences. Like The Water Bouncing The Carts In Under Ground The Hang Glider In Sky High Overall I Think its Ok.A year after the runaway success of Sonic the Hedgehog in 1991, SEGA followed up with a sequel that introduced Miles 'Tails' Prower and the iconic Casino Night Zone to the gaming world. There are some things that I'll never forget about some games, and Sonic 2, even when I certainly didn't like some aspects, is such a joyous ride of speed and outstanding music, maybe its not a masterpiece but it's truly a classic. Setting those complaints aside, the boss fights are great and especially the last fight which came with a surprise, it's very hard until you realize the pattern but even then it keeps the challenge. This issue goes on and on to the last levels and it's pretty noticeable, one of the things that save those levels are the platform segments which are pretty good, if only they were more abundant than those cheap enemies. In regards of control, music and challenge I think it surpasses its predecessor, I was having the time of my life till I get to the penultimate level and last level, the music doesn't quite match the height of the previous levels and my biggest issue, one that for me keeps this game of being a masterpiece is the level design, it just feels clunky, messy and pretty unfair, the unfairness comes when you go full speed or take a trampoline or something alike and then an enemy appears out of nowhere and hits you or kill you, I know that Sonic is more about of quick reflexes than speed but those hazards were really unfair. In regards of control, music and challenge I think it surpasses its Same as the first Sonic game, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has aged so well. Same as the first Sonic game, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has aged so well. For other else, perfect game, really ivolved Sonic Saga, one of the best, if it's not THE ONE. Also you've to deal with Tails, who is moved by the console and it makes you waste a lot of rings since he hardly tries but sadly fails to imitate every movement you do, every step you take, and since what's needed here is at least a little accuracy, this a really dis-advantage. some of them like Sky Chase and Wing Fortress are kinda new for the game and look amazing! What is not an improve is the ''special stages''. what can I say? Casino Night has gone too far away from the old Spring Yard. Many of them could look familiar to you once you've played the first game, but.
